Media Advisory: Vigil to Honour Animals Killed in Experiments in London, ON

When: Saturday, August 9, 2025, 12:00–1:00 p.m.

Where: Outside St. Joseph’s Hospital, 268 Grosvenor St., London, ON

Whistleblowers working in conjunction with Animal Justice have exposed secret experiments at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario, involving highly invasive experiments on dogs, pigs, and rodents—where dogs were deliberately given heart attacks lasting hours, and distressed animals were killed and discarded like garbage instead of being rehomed.

Animal Justice will host a peaceful vigil to honour these animals’ lives and urge the hospital to commit to adopting modern, humane science that does not involve animal suffering.

The memorial will feature a banner, flowers, and photos of some of the animals killed, as well as words of remembrance and a moment of silence. Attendees are invited to bring flowers, letters, drawings, or mementos.

For any animals that continue to be used in experiments at the hospital, Animal Justice, the Beagle Alliance, and farmed animal sanctuaries remain firm in their commitment to rehome dogs and pigs and ensure they can live out their remaining days in the loving, caring homes that they deserve.
