Join Us at the 2023 Canadian Animal Law Conference!

Mark your calendar! The fifth annual Canadian Animal Law Conference will take place September 29 – October 1, 2023, at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.

Hosted by Animal Justice in collaboration with the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, the conference will bring together animal lawyers, scholars, advocates, and students to learn, reflect, and collaborate on building a better legal system for animals.

The conference has been a smashing success every year since it began in 2019, thanks to the tremendous growth of the field of animal law. We’re thrilled to host speakers and attendees again this year in Toronto, bringing together leaders in the animal law movement from Canada, North America, and beyond.

The conference will kick off on Friday, September 29 with the Scholars Track—an entire day showcasing animal law and policy scholarship conducive to deeper thought and consideration of a particular topic.

The Scholars Track, in collaboration with the North American Animal Law Conference, and sponsored by the Brooks Institute is guaranteed to be a conference highlight. The Student Conference will also run on Friday, as a day dedicated to providing law students with valuable tools and knowledge to support the future generation of animal lawyers.

Starting on Saturday, September 30, the main event will feature engaging presentations by prominent lawyers, scholars, scientists, and passionate advocates who are experts in their fields.

We are excited to have participants join us this year from near and far to network, learn, and envision the future of animal protection.

We look forward to seeing you in Toronto!
