Veterinarians Act, SBC 2010, c 15

The Veterinarians Act provides a legislative framework for those practicing veterinary medicine in the province to regulate their qualifications, standards of conduct and practice, as well as conduct investigations and disciplinary proceedings when required.

The British Columbia Veterinary Medical Association is continued as the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia. The College is authorized to make bylaws, some of which must be approved by registrants. The College may also certify technicians and establish bylaws related to the practice of aspects of veterinary medicine by technicians.
