The Meat Inspection Regulations prescribe criteria for standards and identification of edible meat products, the registration, licensing, maintenance, and operations of establishments, the examination, inspection, humane treatment, slaughter of food animals, the packaging, labelling and trade of meat products, and the administration of the Act.
The regulations also exempt certain meat products from the application of the Act.
The enabling statute for these Regulations is the Meat Inspection Act, RSC 1985, c 25 (1st Supp).
