The Permit Regulation provides for special privileges under the Wildlife Act through the issuing of permits by a regional manager or director. The permits authorize a number of otherwise prohibited activities, including the export of wildlife, collecting animals for scientific research, possessing wildlife parts, capturing live wildlife, as well as operating a zoo or commercial hunt club.
