Milk Industry Act, RSBC 1996, c 289

The Milk Industry Act ensures the safety and quality of all milk and milk products by requiring certification of dairy farms and licensing of dairy plants. The Act ensures that all milk sold comes from certified dairy farms and that all milk processed into dairy products, with the exception of raw milk used in the production of certain specialty cheeses, is pasteurized. The Act also outlines the role of the BC Milk Marketing Board in determining payment to milk producers.
