Les Fermes G. Godbout et Fils Inc. v. Canada (CFIA), 2005 CanLII 78775 (CA ART)

In this case, the Applicant Les Fermes G. Godbout et Fils Inc. transported a number of sows to an abattoir and upon delivery, seven of whom were thought to have experienced undue suffering during transport.

The Tribunal found that the condition of all but one of the sows prior to transport was such that they could not have been transported without causing undue suffering and found the Applicant in violation of s. 138(2)(a) of the Health of Animals Regulations.
